Emblazoned by my native ancestors
The Pueblo Nations, my Laguna roots
Once a lake, now all dried up
I am on a path to build a new foundation
To reclaim a name and tell a story
To reach out to those forgotten
To stand still and listen

Born in Philadelphia, PA, and raised in NJ, I have a deep affinity for all things east coast and Philly (Go Birds!). I received my BA from Rutgers University in 2013. I enjoy reading, writing and watching films.

I currently live in Asbury Park, NJ where I’ve resided since 2011. I am pursuing my Master’s of Science at Pacific College of Health and Sciences in NYC, studying Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. You may find me walking (or running) around city streets & coastal beaches with my fiancé and our tri-color beauty Olympia.

What brought me to acupuncture?

I come from a family of restaurant workers, weekend warriors, hustlers. Raised by a single mom, I am the youngest of three children. My mom, a beloved restaurant server, kept her family close by enrolling us into the industry. Bussers, hostesses, servers, managers. We’ve all worked in the industry for many moons. Some of the brightest, most creative, hilarious people I’ve ever met work in kitchens, and I believe this to be a universal truth. As many industry veterans know, the work takes a physical and emotional toll and I turned to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to support my health. Overtime, about 6 years of receiving treatments, and suddenly sleeping better, eating better, and experiencing less pain; I dipped my toe into these healing, ancient waters. I didn’t expect to completely change my life’s path, but that’s the funny thing about Chinese Medicine- it works with your entire body and health inside and out to slowly move you towards your true life’s purpose. This is not to say you won’t get knocked off course, of course you will. But that’s when TCM steps in, to bring you back to center, so you can continue to live a long and healthy life, continuous evolving, hopefully for eternity.
